Video of the inauguration of the Iighting design of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montreal

Look at this video of the lighting inauguration of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montreal, part of the Quartier des Spectacles.

The design is made of 300 dynamic LED fixtures, that are programmed to create different looks during the course of the evening.

Artistic lighting installation for Black & Blue 2009

Artistic lighting installation from Francois Roupinian, principal at Lightemotion, a lighting design firm in Montreal. The installation is a dynamic array of a 1000 LED RGB fixtures from Colorkinetics and a 1000 70w Edison light bulb.
This metaphor of low tech/ high tech technologies creates a choreography of light. the small filament of the light bulbs interacts with the intense but soft hues of colors generated by the LED’s.

Lightemotion delivered the architectural lighting design of the new “At the top” at Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE. This thematic experience was designed by gsmprjct°.

Lumière sur le Quartier des spectacles

Voir TV did a piece on the lighting plan of the Quartier des Spectacles. They follow Lightemotion through the creating and delivering process of the lighting installation of the MACM and the Théatre Maisonneuve, part of the Place des Arts project.
